Our background

The Socotherm Group is the 2nd largest pipe coating organisation in the world with a permanent workforce of about 700 professionals involved in the design, construction and operation of plants in South America, Africa, Europe, Far East and Australia.

Socotherm S.p.A. pioneered the development of its own plastics coating technology in the early 1970’s performing its first 2-layer pipe coating project back in 1976. This was followed by the introduction of fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) coatings in 1977 and 3-layer polyethylene (3PE) coating systems in 1983. Socotherm S.p.A. achieved another milestone in 1985 by being the first in the world to apply composite polypropylene (PP) coatings. The company was historically listed on the Italian stock exchange in 2002 and the shareholders continue to enjoy a steady and consistent increase in the value of their investment.

APC Socotherm Pty Ltd (APCS) was established in 1998 and is 100% owned by the Socotherm Group allowing us access to a global pool of experienced managers, engineers and pipe coating technicians. In addition, we are privy to a vast amount of industry knowledge and can utilise other resources gained over 40 years of being in the oil, gas and water pipe protection business. We operate an 8Ha facility located close to both Orrcon and Onesteel pipe manufacturing mills and Port Kembla on the NSW south coast which ensures that we are a cost effective delivery point for locally produced bare pipes or pipe delivered from overseas.

                                    APCS Facility

Our mission

APCS was founded to end a 30 year monopoly of the pipe coating business in Australia and to provide the industry with updated coating technology and systems, flexibility and value where the customer has traditionally received a poor deal due to lack of competition.

Our talented, energetic and pro-active employees provide new ideas through innovative thinking and also focus their efforts on providing reliable, quality products combined with a high degree of customer service. By winning new and retaining existing customers, our corporate objectives are to gain sufficient market share to return a profit to our principal shareholder, sustain long term growth and provide our employees with a sense of purpose and a satisfying work environment. | Top |
